A Beautiful Mess

I am using this class to work out a color pallet for some abstracts. I love wet on wet watercolor mixed with acrylic ink and watching the paints and inks flow into each other. I used salt on the two bottom middle purple/green ones to add some more blending texture.
Right now I'm still playing with my colorways. The pallet is complimentary, red to violet purples and yellow/orange/lime green.
I added marks to my larger color swatches. They were 'meh' until I added soft pastels and acrylic ink from a dip pen.
Now I love them!
Here are my two medium pieces. I worked in pairs on these. The green ones suggested the sea, so the marks emphasized that. The magenta... I regret making any marks on them. I loved them just as they were without the added ink.
I used watercolor (Moonglow & Perelyne Green on the one, Azo Yellow, Amiata Gold on the other), Acrylic Ink Muted Grey & Quin Magenta, and hard pastels, the square stick variety. Dip pen for the lines on the magenta one.
Final Painting! I did the yellow and magenta back ground and set it aside. Added more magenta and some yellow ink to brighten up a dull spot and set it aside. Added some transparent burnt sienna ink and set it aside.
This morning I said "screw it" and added the transparent sienna ink blown by a straw and some splatters.
Then magic happened! I love this so much, so I signed and dated it.
