14 Days of Illustrated Journaling

14 Days of Illustrated Journaling - student project

I used to draw a lot in highschool and college as a hobby, but since starting work full time it's been difficult trying to find the time for it. When I do find the time, I feel so anxious and pressured to make a masterpiece that I just don't end up drawing at all. I'm hoping this 14 day journaling class will help combat some of that anxiety and get me back in the groove.

Day 1: Currently Listening to...

Thornhill, The Dark Pool

I just discovered this band last week and I've been listening to this album almost every day since. I love the ethereal sound and feel it has.

Day 2: Recently I learned...

...that the tree disease Cytospora Canker is caused by the fungus Leucostoma kunzei. The infection starts at the bottom of the tree, blocking water from spreading through branches, and works it's way up the tree. The most susceptible hosts are Norway Spruce and Colorado Blue Spruce, and the pathogen generally targets weakened trees. There are no effective chemical treatments. Remove dead branches with sterile tools and maintain good tree health to minimize the spread.

Day 3: Creating With...

Day 4: Latest Reading Material

I'm not very happy with how this illustration turned out, but I am happy that I've kept up with this challenge so far!

Day 5: Ingredients to my Mess

 Day 6: Daily Routine

 Day 7: Current Cravings

I hate living in the city. It doesn't help that I live on a very busy street, so it's hard for me to find peace and relaxation. I bought a tensile tree tent a few years ago and I haven't had the chance to use it yet. I'm hoping this coming long weekend I can find a quiet place in the woods somewhere and just hang out for the day.

Day 8: I Keep Wearing

This year I have become obsessed with long summer dresses! I usually buy them from Value Village, but occasionally I will treat myself to a dress from Winners (like the red one I drew here). I work outside all day in heavy clothes, so wearing as little clothing as possible is ideal. However, I'm way too lazy to shave my legs every day, and these make it so I only have to once a week. ;)

Day 9: Self Care Necessities

Day 10: Grocery Run

These are items that are on my grocery list weekly, without fail. My absolute favourite breakfast is scrambled eggs with cottage cheese and spinach and a buttered bagel on the side - so yummy!! Somehow I haven't gotten sick of eating ham and cheese wraps every day for lunch. Bananas are a must, and my favourite snacking veggies are broccoli, bell peppers and cherry tomatoes.

Day 11: Favourite Corner

Today's drawing was really rushed. I didn't have a lot of time today but I wanted to keep on track with doing this every day. So here are my fave items on my desk.
