This class is about creating a page in your sketchbook that records an ordinary day in your life. I call this kind of page a "Save the Day" page. We will go from exploring the concept all the way through a beautifully completed page. Think your everydays are too boring for this? They're not and we will prove it.

Your Assignment

You will take a look at the little things that do happen during even the most ordinary day, and choose which to draw and remember.

You will make a basic page layout plan to help you organize and place your drawings.

You will draw simple, everyday things, first with pencil, then with ink.

You will make watercolor washes for backgrounds, and high intensity watercolor applications to make your drawings stand out from their backgrounds.

Finally, you will learn how to balance color over a page so your project has harmony, and upload your "day" to the Project Section.
