In this class, we will be making a self portrait.

Self portraits have been traditionally made by painters in order to study their craft, and as we will be going through tips for choosing good reference photos, it's easier to obtain them if you're your own model.

Plus, you will be looking at the reference a lot throughout this process, so it's a good opportunity to get to know your own face and maybe see it in from a different perspective!

You can post your self portrait, and get feedback from myself and your peers. This is a great way to have some accountability in completing the exercises proposed in the class, as well as a chance to get direct feedback from me.

If you can, try to scan your work, or if taking photos of your paintings, make sure the space is well lit.

In case you don't feel comfortable making a self portrait, you can choose a different reference - just follow the tips provided in the class.
