Taking this challenge was a really interesting experience and a self discovery journey. It definitely didn't feel good, for the most part. Something didn't click with me and these paintings. I tried really hard, but at a point my body was telling me to stop. I was feeling nausea.

I can't tell what the problem was, but I got disappointed with every new painting and was loosing confidence in myself and my ability to paint a good lancape.

Definitely this fast paced style does not suit me and painting every day does not either. I normally like to sit with each image, study it and make a good sketch before painting.

However I kept at it and after I passed the middle mark I started to worry less about the outcome and concentrate more on just taking it to an end. I stopped trying to reproduce the exact colors and strokes and just followed the referenece photos with a glimpse to the painted version every now and then.

Here is what I managed to do.

I didn't have the exact colors, so I gathered the ones that best matched. I was so disappointed with the muddy results after the Turkey picture that I had to lay them down on a playful page.

This was the most disappointing page but also the turning point. I did Switzerland by following the tutorial. I should have used the reference photo. This is not how I see that landcape.

By the time I got to the wind mill I was ready to give up. I even deleted my first sketch thinking it was over. But somehow the next day I had the desire to do it again, just this one. I was more relaxed and didn't care so much about getting it right.

Same with Stonehenge. I watched the tutorial once, then painted the rocks with the colors I had, following only the reference photo.

This was another scary one, because of the bus. I had never drawn a vehicle in my life. So I just sketched an initial box in perspective and the rest came along. I still have some work to do, I don't love the rocks on the right, But I saw see it through and this is the final result. I might ad a few tweaks later, but not much.

My state of mind is now changed for the better. Hopefully I have overcome a personal barrier.
