Born and raised in the South, USA Kelly grew up vegetable gardening and canning/preserving everything from spicy pickles to strawberry jam. She's lived and worked in NYC, opened a western-style cooking school for kids and adults in Chengdu China (Sichuan Province), and now lives in NE Italy where she's building her long-overdue food blog business Bitingatthebits.com.

She left a career in advertising to pursue her passion for cooking and started Burnt Sugar NYC where she cooked privately for busy NYC career families, taught 1:1 private cooking lessons, and regularly conducted cooking demos and tested cooking equipment for The Broadway Panhandler.

She also catered events (including for theawesome Skillshare HQ Team, the 85th Academy of Motion Picture & Sciences Foreign Film Oscar Nominees Selection event at the Academy Theater in Manhattan, and the Russ & Daughter's Herring Festival Event alongside the talented Dutch Chef, Linda Steen who was the featured chef.
