I honestly feel thankful for this course because I tried to self-taught myself in this program, and trial and error sometimes is unnecessarily time-consuming and frustrating.

THE SHAPE BUILDER TOOL

I loved this tutorial because I was not as challenging as it might look for complete beginners, but also with a great end product.

I still don´t know why, but I had a bit of an issue with the triangle exercise, as you can see in corners. I tried it to fix it with the eraser tool, but I was happy with the solution. Then I played a bit with the direct selection-tool and fiddled around to get the corners perfectly overlapping, but that did not work either. practicing illustrator - image 5 - student project

My exercise is something I was inspired to do when I saw this on a youtube video for flat design. The original is slightly different and has more details in the background. I think it was a good practice to work with shapes, the direct selection, and the shape builder tool.

THE PEN TOOL

I know I will have to practice with the pen-tool a lot more. It is still challenging for me.

REPEATING PATTERN

For my repeating pattern, I also made a flat design inspired motive. I like how it turned out and played with different background colors.
