Hopefully wherever you are, you're all doing well, keeping safe and continuing to pursue your passion for painting!

Recently I have taken some time to go out again into the landscape here in Western Australia to do some plein air oil painting. I absolutely love being out there on the spot taking in the amazing views and putting the palette knife to work with oils!!

It's winter now and the vivid greens are everywhere, so I thought I would share with you a few of my latest paintings in the hopes that it will encourage you with your art!

If you really want to pursue developing your landscape painting techniques using either acrylics or oils, then I would strongly suggest trying your hand at 'plein air' Yes you will have to invest in either a small pochade or painting box/easel that you can take with you out into the landscape and meet the challenges that will face you once you're out there, but grab the opportunity and just do it!

Using photo references is a great way to get you started on your landscape painting journey, but nothing can ultimately compare with the experience of actually being out in the wonderful landscape with all it's challenges and seeing just what you can paint!
