Create a looping dance animation!

Your final project for this course will be to create a frame by frame animation in Adobe photoshop. As you make your way through the lessons, keep the Class Guidebook on hand as a resource.

Through mini exercises and demos, we’ll go through each step of creating an animation, which include:

Learning the Principles of Animation: These fundamental principles are an integral part of creating fluid, believable motion for your character. In this course, we'll cover pose-to-pose animation, arcs, and squash and stretch. Through a series of short assignments, you'll learn how to spot these principles and incorporate them into your work.
Recording a reference video: We'll cover why you need a reference video and how to create one for yourself (it includes a dance party!)
Designing a character: After taking a look at the importance of shapes and colors, you'll integrate these ideas into a character that is unique to you.
Animating in Adobe Photoshop: This is what you're all here for, right? We'll walk through how to use Adobe Photoshop's timeline feature to animate. Using the foundational skills and knowledge you've gained in the previous lessons, you'll start with sketching out keyframes, outline your animation, and finally color it in.
Exporting your animation: When your animation is complete, you'll export it, so it's ready to be shared with your friends, family, and here in the Project Gallery!

To complete this project, you’ll need:

Adobe Photoshop
A Drawing tablet
A phone/camera that records video
Clay
