I've always doodled since my childhood. I always thought these are somewhat not good enough, not a real art, cheap, not worth exploring any further. But now I want to see if I can change my doodle into something more interesting by spending more time on them and exploring them deeper.

Day 1. After spending time in front of blank paper for a long time, I finally started to draw.

My accountability partner thought this drawing was awesome and I was really surprised and pleased, but now I'm worried that the following days' drawings can be better than the first day and can meet her expectations.

Day2

I had an image of a woman's hair turning into flames. I really wanted to use traditional Japanese orange-red ink and ink pen for the hair, but I didn't have those, so I decided to draw all in black pen and then see if I can change the hair digitally to make it closer to the image I had in mind. I spent way more than aimed 30min as a result, but I really enjoyed the process. My accountability partner advised me to put the signature for each piece, one reason being so that I can finish off a piece and not keep drawing to make it perfect.

Day 3

I had an image in my head which was not very clear but I started to draw anyway to take a risk and see how this is going to come out. I was not happy how it turned out and almost quit half way but kept going. I still didn't like the end result but trying to see what I could learn from this experience. I was surprised that the people I showed this drawing liked it very much, and was happy that I kept going and shared, and told myself to stop being so critical of my work.

Day 4,5,6

I kept reading the PDF and encouraged myself. I did't realise 7days challenge was going to be so..challenging! I couldn't stop at 20min, and wanted to keep drawing. For some drawings I had to fight my self-criticism voice during it. My accountability partner says the styles of the works are so different to each other, it might make people confused with what I want to do. I agree but not sure what to do except to keep drawing.

Day 7

For this final work I just took it easy and just enjoyed drawing with warm gratitude. I learned so much from this course and I will keep going back to the PDF supplied. Thank you so much for the fantastic course. It pushed me to open Instagram account which I put if off for a long time. Now I'm overwhelmed again with sea of people and illustrations on IG. Need to go back to see the Ohn Mar's PDF again!
