In this class, we’ll start by crafting a beautiful ink from privet berries — a soft, earthy color straight from nature. Then, you’ll learn how to paint elegant ginkgo leaves with it, and compose them into a flowing, harmonious design that echoes the rhythm of a natural pattern.

As part of the course project, you'll use the ink you’ve made from privet berries to paint a simple yet elegant botanical composition of ginkgo leaves. We’ll explore how to build a flowing layout and bring texture to your leaves by adding details with your brush. You’ll not only learn how to make natural ink, but also how to use it confidently on watercolor paper.
