I like where you're going with the second one. Lookin' good. I especially like how you've incorporated Ben's name in there. Maybe the K can have a decorative upstroke instead of the down stroke?

Hi Iris! These are both look really great. The first one is very unique and has a lot of personality but I think the second is my favorite. I really love the "B" letter form but I feel like the "?" gets a little lost and just looks like another decorative swirl, maybe emphasize the dot a little more? :]

I also like the second sketch; it seems more thought-out and a bit more artistic

like the second one better! the thickness of the letters and also how the crossbar of the "t" also crosses the "f."

#1: I agree with the statement that for this one it should be pushed even further into the complexity of the vines - think Marian Bantjes (http://www.bantjes.com/project/zeit-die-geliebte).
#2: This overall looks more balanced &amp; cohesive, I think it would be fun to play with the word "beautiful" in this one and make it even more gorgeous and lush, especially when it gets to the colour stage. 

I think for both though just to make sure that the ? doesn't get lost (it's more stand out on the second one but barely registers on the 1st). This is a great start!

I like both of them, but the 2nd is my favorite. I love how the word "beautiful" stands out since it's being compared to more of a serif font. I like this interaction works very well. I would love to see more flourishes on that one too. The first one is nice, but I think if you're going to go for the vine look, it needs more. I think it would look cool if it was one of those drawing where you almost had to do a second take. It looks like vines, but when you look closely it actually says something.

I like the second better, because the letters interact more, and make the thought more cohesive.

I really like both sketches, but the first one is my favorite.  I like how, in a way, the words seem to be hidden within all the "leaves"/plant-like lines.  Not to get all deep and stuff, but in a way the quotes is describing the lines themselves.  Basically, I LIKE it :)

Same here. I like both of them. I think if there are less vines below the first sketch's "beautiful" it would be cleaner. One reason I like the 2nd one is its airiness... less stuff... Does that make sense?
