The original photo is the last photo posted. This was taken at a friends house during a kid's halloween party. This is my daughter she is thirteen. As she gets older, photography has become a great way for the two of us to connect.

The owers of the house have an amazing collections of things from shells and rocks to beautiful large pieces of driftwood. We found this magnifying glass on a table full of collections — the shot was my daughter's idea.

For all of the photos, I began the edits in Retouch and removed a cabinet door in the background. I then proceeded to do the final edits in vsco.

This first photo is the final edit that was posted to instagram and vsco. I applied a the sharpen filter, increased the exposure, decreased the temperature, added the T1 preset/ slider to 9 and added contrast.

The second photo I applied a the sharpen filter, decreased the exposure, added the SE1 preset/ slider to 9, added a brown tint to the shadows and finally added a slight fade.

The third photo, again applied the sharpen filter and added the B1 black and white preset .

Finally, I rotated the image slightly to straighten and cropped to make the photo square.

I go back and forth as to which one I like best.
