the places I'd love to end up in life

1. Why am I making this map? For fun? A client? a gift? To showcase my favorite places? Etc.

I first started this class as I was going to get an assignment about map-making in my "job" as a graphic designer (volunteer work). Now I've decided I want to take the opportunity for this project to take a little more conceptual.

At the moment I'm going through a harder period in my life, I've lost my job about 2 years ago and still searching for a new one. I've had some serious trouble with my self-esteem for example but I want to turn around the negative things into something good. I, like everyone else I guess, still have certain dreams and goals I'd like to achieve so I'm going to use these "things" for my map. Don't ask me HOW I'll do it, I don't know yet :-)

2. Why am I the expert to create this map?

Because I know me best ;-)

3. Who is my target audience?

That would also be me, but I'd like to use this project also as a project for my portfolio and maybe for future employers, companies.

4. What level of detail do I need to include? (Names, addresses, contact info, street names, website, hours, descriptions, color coding etc.).

I'm still overthinking this question. It's not so much about streets or particular places, it's more about feelings and "state of mind" I think.

5. Do I want my final project to be printed or digital? How is it going to be used/ held? What other constraints do I need to keep in mind moving forward? (Note: type can be smaller on printed maps than when viewed on web).

I want it to be printed as a poster, so that'll be A4 - A3.

6. “Dear classmates, I need your help/expertise/ guidance on how to.....”

So far I don't have any questions yet ;-) but I’d love to hear any of your thoughts!
