I made my shapes in Adobe Illustrator, exported as psd, and then imported into procreate where I followed Liz's method for texturing.  I played around a lot with the different brushes and used blend modes and hue-saturation-brightness adjustments.  The egret was textured with Liz's cracked porcelain brush.

 

I've been wondering how to smooth out a face that was made with shapes.  The original Illustrator file of the portrait looks like this:

I am excited about what I can do with shapes like these using Liz's texturing suggestions.
