skully

Here's where the coloring stage ended up.  As usual, I ended up getting a bit too sucked into the fine detail and I think I might've overworked it a bit but I really got a lot out of your brush settings and loved playing around with the line weight.  I think I'm going to try simplifying a lot more and going less realistic and more graphic on my next one.

Update- decided to re-post as an animated gif to show the different steps of coloring (and mainly just because I just figured out how to do animated gifs.)

Pretty much done with the initial digital inking now.  Might look at it with fresh eyes tomorrow and make a few tweaks before moving on to the color stage.  Also thinking of maybe giving him some antlers or a third eye or something just to make it a bit more interesting.  Any feedback would be appreciated!

Thanks for the class, Chris!  I really learned a lot from your first one and have been waiting to see what you'd come up with next.

Anyways, I got a wacom intuos5 a while back but still feel like it's going to take some time for me to get my inking technique down with it.  I'm trying to stick very close to what you've done with yours, but chose a different skull from your illustrated monthly book. Here's the sketch; I'm about halfway through the lineart stage and will post that once its done.
