principles perfectly illustrated

i'm a shabby chic-aholic so this interior tickles my fancy and ticks all the boxes for the fundamentals of styling.

Needs - The fireplace has been used to store books in an accessible place, the wire basked to keep blankets and throughs and the old suitcase makes a great coffee table.

Shape - The rectangle mantle with the arched fireplace, rectangle mirror, rectangle wooden boxes - shapes aplenty!

Colour - The neon pink accents pop against the otherwise neutral space. Calming and clean, but the pink gives the space a real lift.

Pattern - Is found in the rug and the cool pair of coat hooks

Placement - The three mirrors together and the pair coat hooks on either side of the fireplace

Texture - The soft rug on the floorboards, the cushy pile of throws and blankets.

Bling - Those cool mirrors and the old trophies do the dazzling in this space.

Botanicals - The flowers on the mantlepiece are dried but still add a natural element and there is a little sprig of green in there too.

Before shots to come but I have three kids and my home isn't currently fit to photograph or display to all your stylish people!
