manchester united kits

I have chosen Manchester United as the team i would like to make a new kit for and its not hard to see why i picked them as they are one of the best teams around.

With this season coming to an end they can pick up their 20th league title.

They already have 19 league, 11 F.A cups 1 uefa cup winners cup 1 uefa super cup 1 intercontinental cup

1 fifa club world cup 3 european cups 19 community cups (15 outright 4 Shared and they won the treble in 1999.

Sir Alex Ferguson has won 24 major honours since he took over in November 1986.

I would like to make a home kit, away kit, goalkeeper kit a third kit and even a one off kit

1902 home kit this button up shirt was worn from the Newton Heath days until the 1920s

1928 was the year Manchester United switched permanenty to the famous colours of red shirts and white shorts and black socks.

1960 - 1961 Man U continued to wear the classic red kit with a white V-Neck collar however they changed from wearing black socks to all white ones.

During the mid sixties there was a slight change as the socks were changed to red. The only other talking point was the all white away strip introduced in 1969.  There were special one off shirts for the 1963 FA Cup Final and for the 1968 European Cup Final.

1972-73 Man U wore a third choice kit against the likes of Southampton, Stoke City, Sunderland and Sheffield United. A yellow jersey with a blue floppy collar, blue shorts and yellow socks. This was the year they wore the club badge on the home kit for the first time.

1984-1985 - The kit was a United classic, made famous for that amazing 1 - 0 FA Cup win over Everton. The design by Adidas was radical. The United logo was placed in the centre, the manufacturers logo was moved to the sleeves and a touch of white lined in black was the main attraction below each shoulder. It sported a red, white and black V - Necked collar and cuffs. The shorts featured thin red stripes as well as the famous Adidas three stripes in red down the outside.

1996-1997 Umbro's design. This season saw a two tone shirt with a button up collar.

1997-1999 This classy, glossy strip was worn with white socks by United in the European Champions League from 1997-1998. Right up until that amazing night in Barcelona in 1999. Initially with one gold star above the badge (representing the 1968 triumph) and it was re-released as a Limited Edition shirt after the final with two stars above the badge.
