I found this project a real challenge for me to complete daily, even though I loved every minute, I admit I did give up for a few days half way through. After getting Dylan's email prompt one day I gave it another try. You may see that the last few pictures are a slightly different style as I managed to buy a few more Tombow's in that time, as I really wanted a black brush tip for my headings. On the days I couldn't get the composition to work the first times I cut and pasted the drawn images so I could play with the composition first.
This was the first picture that I was happy to show to others as I really love reading and have always got more books lined up to read before I've finished the current ones. And yes I'm still working through "Your Dream Life Starts Here" by Kristina Karlsson, as it has an accompanying workbook to help you figure out how to reach your goals. I am also just planted some fruit trees so the Grow Fruit book has been a great guide for this. I love the less waste philosophy so the Waste Not book by Erin Rhoads has lots of great tips for trying to reduce waste. And the other two are just great inspiring pictures to look how others live in their homes and creative spaces. Loving my Tombow Dual Brush Brights palette.
This is the start of the colour and cut phase and I quite liked the flexibility of moving the images around on the page until they work . The colour combination was selected to try and fit in with the Duolingo app colours as I didn't think it would be recognisable otherwise.
I love dark chocolate. 90% Lindt chocolate is one of the better ones, but I'm not picky. Oh and peanut butter with everything! Still grappling with getting placement right so still using the cut and paste method.
This prompt made me realise I definitely need new clothes...
This is where I began thinking more about placement of objects before drawing them. It still didn't always go to plan but I do like this drawing the best. I pinched a few more of my daughters markers for this one too, to try and replicate the Nutty Bruce almond milk more accurately.
I love this space. Even the weeds outside my window! I like how the texture of the marker emulates the wood.
These are my fave products I use most days. I am not loving the colours, but I think this worked out OK.
