happiness only real when shared

happiness only real when shared

This quote is from "Into the Wild", a book from the journalist Jon Krakauer based on the travels of Christopher McCandeless aka Alexander Supretramp. Christopher actually wrote this quote on one of the books that were found with him in the van where he died. The book was later adapted to the big screen, starring Emile Hirsch and directed by Sean Penn.

When you read the book and/or watch the movie, you know how powerful and meaningful this can be, so I decided to make a poster out of it.

Since I was very late with this class, I already did all the steps and chose a thumbnail to sketch, but feedback is always welcome!

And here's the sketch of my chosen thumbnail. I'm not sute about the "only real" part, I feel like something's missing.

I'll fix spacing and alligment in the next step, inking!

during this step, I changed some (a lot of) details of the lettering. I think I like it better now.

Since I enrolled for The Final Steps of Hand Lettering, I created a project there with the color and texture steps: http://www.skillshare.com/classes/design/The-Final-Steps-of-Hand-Lettering-Color-Texture-Lettering-II/1795584604/projects/30214
