get loud- colors!

UPDATE: 3/31 (part 2)  ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

aaaaaand we're done! Thanks so much, everyone- I'd still love to hear any thoughts you might have, but I'm stepping away from this for now. Brad, thanks for making this such a fun class!

UPDATE: 3/31  ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Going to take one more pass at this later tonight, so any comments you might have would be very useful!

UPDATE: 3/25  -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Got rough colors down! I might let this sit for now- I know I'm going to want to go into it again with textures, but I'll hold off until we get more helpful lectures there : ) Thanks, everyone!

3/22: Okay, trying to start messing with color! I'm working in ps, not illustrator, since I tend to do more painterly work. I really found the color videos valuable despite the program difference, though, so thanks very much for those!

I knew I wanted to use loud colors in the foreground and less saturated ones in back. It's going to take me a while to find the right balance, and I'm going to kick this into greyscale for a while to make sure the contrast is okay, but I like it as a starting point.

3/21- Hi all! I'm loving what everyone's making so far, and thanks very much for all your helpful feedback. I wanted to explore a few different angles and compositions for the loud closet, so here goes:

As always, I'd love to hear your thoughts!

3/19- some very simple sketches and thoughts to kick it off!

I know I want to mess with bold colors, patterns, and textures as opposed to something more subdued, so loud seemed like the way to go : )

Starting thoughts: maybe an explicit use of loud patterns in a closet, or a very literal loud environment.

More to come later! I'll dump all new updates at the top of the post so you don't have to scroll too far. Looking forward to seeing everyone else's work!
