flowers / dog / wine

All photos taken with a Canon Rebel t5i with a Canon 85mm f 1/.8 USM lens.

Rule of thirds:

On a recent trip to Olympia, Washington, I had forgotten how green and lush the landscape is, especially since California is drying up and all I really see is dust nowadays. There are so many beautiful flowers with such vibrant colors. I actually didn't do much editing to this photo, the lighting was great and the flowers speak for themselves.

This is our dog, Savvy. Although she doesn't like having her picture taken, I love the way her brindle fur photographs. I upped the contrast and the clarity, deepend the blacks, illuminated the whites and upped the exposure just a tad. She's always on the lookout and is a great guard dog, we call her The Sheriff.

Lighting / Exposure:

This vase of wine corks sits in a corner between 2 windows in our kitchen and the morning light was making for some cool photos! I tried out a polarzing filter and I really like the way you can still see the glass but there's not much reflection. I really like all the textures of the corks and the smoothness of the glass. We obviously enjoy our wines!

Thanks for checking out my photos, I hope you like them as much as I do!
