daily-ish drawing practice

I tend to draw on whatever is handy – yesterday I used a piece of a cereal bar carton:

But it's not all scrap paper: I have a small out-of-date Moleskin calendar I carry around with me for quick sketching away from home.

I find hands really tricky, so I've sketched my left hand a lot lately...

my current obsession: mermaid hands

I used a 0.5mm Rotring knock-off and some of my ancient Staedler and Faber Castell colour pencils.

And because of Anna's use of a fountain pen, I spent hours looking for my old Lamy to give it a try. The main problem with it is that it has a medium nib, so it's not great for fine detail. Still, I'm going to keep using it for a bit and if I find I like drawing with a fountain pen, I'll get one with a finer nib.

I'm really pleased with my seagull.
