antique meets rustic

I recently moved back to my hometown of Ohio from NYC so I was excited to capture home photos in a setting that wasn't a 300 square foot dungeon Brooklyn apartment with no windows. After living in NYC, I am now very grateful for the silence of Midwestern suburbs.

I used my grandmother's antique china which I think is BEAUTIFUL! I liked the contrast of the elegant and detailed porcelain with my desert-loving succulents (you'll notice I'm trying to revive them from teh brink of death) and earthy stone table.

The three words that descibe my setting are: tranquil, relaxing, comfortable

I tried capturing a glimpse of the changing leaves and bird house outside in the second picture. The background is a bit blurry because of a screen window, but I find that it gives the image a unique texture.
