Zine Obsessed

16318393

I had so much fun on this project! I just found out about Zines within the last week and I have totally fallen in love with the whole format. I was super excited to see this class on Skillshare so I could jump right in. Since finding out about Zines was such a magic moment for me I thought I'd document some of my initial thoughts and feelings on Zines. First, I started off sketching out some of my ideas and then numbered them and figured out what pages I wanted them on and what was missing from the narrative.

After I had sketched things out pretty well, I drew them on a folded zine. Then I scanned them in.

Once I finished the line art I decided to add some color and texture to give it more pop. For the flow of the pages I added a pop of color to every page or spread of pages to keep the feel balanced as you flip through the zine. I also added color to the fold out reveal. I think the reveal makes a nice little poster.

Finally I printed it out and folded and cut it into the final Zine. I'm really happy with how it turned out! Thanks for such a great class!
