Yes! You Can Draw - Exercises

Yes! You Can Draw - Exercises - student project

Do you know that feeling when you get a massage and the therapist finds a knot that you didn't know were there? And you realise just how much you needed this? That was exactly how I felt doing Amandine's exercises. Thank you so much! Whenever someone tells me in the future, "I can't draw", I will send them here <3

In the order I drew them - I always wrote one aspect I like about the drawings below each one.

The first one with my left hand (charcoal, DIN A4):

I like the swiftness of the lines...

The ones with the single continuous line (pen, DIN A4)

I like the graphical aspect, it feels smooth...

The ones without looking at the paper (ink pen and coloured pens, DIN A4)

I like the Picasso-esque appearance, I bet he did those exercises as well...

The one without looking at the mirror, after studying my face (charcoal, DIN A 4)

I like the comic-style...

And finally I felt like trying out the left hand another time (charcoal, DIN A4)

UPDATE:

After Amandine's intriguing feedback, I followed her advise on trying the exercise again, but this time swapping the materials used! So, I did exactly that, and again I had an absolute blast. I deliberately took a bit more time with the drawings I were inclined to rush through. The outcome was even a bit unexpected for me...I also experienced that different media lends itself differently to separate styles...

The one with one continuous line - the shading I did afterwards of course (charcoal on carton, DIN A4)

The ones without looking down on the paper, only to swap "colors" (charcoal, carton DIN A4)
