Write About Love

  • Step 1: Selecting Your Text

I watched the first six classes and I decided the title of the screenplay. 'Write About Love' is a song by Belle and Sebastian. When I started to think about what book I chose, I tought about B&S as a soundtrack. I'm trying to find inspiration and love is something that inspires me to write - even when I'm not in love.

I chose Spoon River Anthology, by Edgar Lee Masters, and two poems to look up. Rebecca Wasson and Louise Smith will be the principal characters.

I will start to draft next week.

  • Step 2: Drafting Your Screenplay

I don't want to make as Alejandro Zambra and start the draft with the final conclusion - as he did with 'Bonsai' - but I decided something important about the screenplay.

I read the two poems sometimes followed and I realized: Louise Smith will be the woman with a heartbroken and Rebecca Wasson will be the woman with a true love.

I started the draft but I need to read again. Now it's more than 4:30am in São Paulo (BR). I have to sleep a little. It's not finished and it's not formatted - and surely must have verbal errors because it didn't revised yet. Its a kind of rustic draft.

I decided the final of the story, checked the grammar and I started to work on the formatation of the screenplay - if you're having some difficulty, I strongly recommend this link with instructions by Skillshare.

  • Step 3: Writing Your Logline

'Write About Love' is about love. Louise and Rebecca are best friends and share their feelings about relationships and being in love. It's a story of our days and about an universal emotion - love can happen with everyone, anytime.

-> About the course

I'm so glad to be part of this. I felt that everyone tried to help: reading the screenplays, sending inputs and making this experience so amazing. For me, it was something really new. Usually I write, but not this kind of the text. It was my first screenplay and I'm really satisfied with the final version.

I hope you appreciate the plot - if you have not read. Thanks everybody for the comments, likes and everything else.

Best regards from Brazil. ♥
