Woodland Christmas - student project

11/28 Update: Final

Here's my final pattern. I went with different colours and tweaked some things.

Just realized the colours aren't showing up properly (probably because I took screenshots) but the colour palette below is what it should look like.

Here's the blue pattern as well

11/28 Update: Pattern Block

Here are some screenshots of my work in progress from the weekend:

Added in some more elements and went with this colour palette. I'm going to tweak some more tonight and maybe try another palette.

Getting all of the elements in there, not worrying about colour.

Here are my sketches for my pattern. I started off drawing with pen on paper and then continued drawing on my iPad (sketchbook pro) during my commute to and from work. I'm still trying to decide whether to go more adult-themed or kid-themed. It's time to start making these into vectors and we'll see what develops.

P.S. Just thought I would mention that I found a free iPad app called MyDesigner (iDesigner) that exports vector art

Moodboard

I've chosen a holiday theme as Christmas is just around the corner and thought it would be neat to wrap some presents in my own pattern design.

I always seem to have a hard time editing moodboards because I simply love all different styles of illustration and design. The images on the bottom left corner (holiday interior) and top right corner (geometric tree) is where my inspiration stemmed from. Hopefully it will all come together in the end.
