Who's that peeping through my window: The Business of Reality TV

Draw the drapes, close the blinds, pull the shades! This was all too common in African-American households across the nation. But things have changed. Now, more and more Black families are opening their homes to television viewers hoping to catch a glimpse into the good, the bad and the ugly of their personal lives.

Something that was once taboo, has become all too common. But the real question is why? Why are Black folks bypassing their right to privacy to let thousands of television watchers into their homes?

My story explores the business side of reality tv as it pertains to African Americans and the impact it has had on the financial lives and careers of Black reality TV stars.
