Whimsical Bird

Whimsical Bird - student project

That was really fun! Thank you Irina for inspiring me to paint so many different things :) I had this class on my list for a while now and yesterday I finally got to do it. I wanted to paint the third bird for my project, but tryied the monochromatic one as well to practice the patterns and details.

I decided to give it a sparkle with my gold acrylic paint! - since it's a bit transparent, I just went over all yellow details to add the shimmer effect. Hope you can see it.

I'm not completely happy with the patterns on the wing, but I really like the gradient effect on the scales-like feathers on the right side. Thank you Irina for teaching that!

Important note: my phone camera didn't capture the purples in the painting, like on the tails and wing... I don't know why, maybe because it's too cludy for pictures today. Anyways, the original bird is a bit less blue :)
