Where is Jessica Hyde?

Where is Jessica Hyde? - student project

For this class I decided to "dig out" my old illustration idea which I abandoned (because I wasn't able to make this freakin' labyrinth!). After this class I decided to give it a second chance!

The illustration is my tribute to one of the best TV shows ever, Utopia. I'm not gonna explain it - people who've seen it know what it means, and I don't wanna spoil it for those who haven't :D

Here's the result:

Overview of the techniques I used + some explanation:

How I made the labyrinth: I made one ellipse with a heavy stroke & then I used the "offset path" tool multiple times. As simple as that :) Then I changed the stroke to a shape by outlining it (you can also expand the shape). The "holes" in the labyrinth were made by using Pathfinder.

PS. This tutorial helped me a lot in making the labyrinth: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lvk8G0StWJQ

How I made the dripping blood: Made the shape from rectangles, then United them into one shape & played around with the live corners.

I really like working with modifying simple geometric shapes & that's why I enjoyed this project a lot :) Thanks Hayden!
