Background:

I use to play a lot of sports and was always very active. In my final year of high school I injured my knee but it was not until 5 years later that a doctor would confirm that it was torn cartilidge. 2 years ago I had knee surgery to fix it but did not get back into exercise because of a full course load, student government involvement and 2 part-time jobs. Atleast those are the excuses that I told myself. Yes I was busy but I still could have worked better to eat healthier and exercise more often.

 8 months have passed since I graduated University, moved to a new province and started a full-time job. It took me a 2 months to find a job and 3 months to start going to the gym on a regular basis. Within a month of graduating I started eating better and although it took a couple months to start going to the gym (mostly because I was finally financially caught up from the cross country move) I finally started taking the time to take care of myself.

Today:

I go to the gym at least 3 times a week. I am sleeping and eating better and I have never been less stressed in my life. Since August 2012, when I started going to the gym and seeing a trainer twice a week, I have lost 15 pounds, lost inches and gained muscle. I even managed to somehow not gain weight over christmas even though I barely went to the gym and did not eat well for at least 2 weeks. 

Goals:

  1. lose a total of 50lbs
  2. maintain weightloss
  3. maintain general health and strength gained

Plan:

  • 5+ workouts a week
  • consistency with food 
  • consistency with vitamins
