Weaving an Ojo de Dios Huichol: An antique spiritual touch to your home

The Huichol or wixarikas live in the western central part of Mexico and have one of the most beautiful crafts in our country, everything they create has an spiritual religious symbol and the Ojo de Dios is one of the most fascinating ritual object.

The Ojo de Dios, Tsikuri is created to the small members of the communities by the parents to use in a very special moment where they believe God can see their souls through them. In this class we will learn about the traditional colors, their meanings and the basic weaving forms that you can use to create your own tsikuri.


Weave your own Tsikuri- Ojo de Dios 


What will we need?

4 wood sticks- can be the one you use to attach fruit or fajitas. 

4 or more different color cotton - Go to the flair market and choose at least 4 colors you are comforable with.



Pick the colors you feel will not only match your home deco but also will light your day when you look at it in the mornings and makes you smile when you come back from work.

Follow your hearth and use this basic techniques you learn in this class to extend your knowledge of Ojos de Dios weaving, you can also be creative and try to make new techinques right away.
