This is a truly helpful class. A good way to go out the confort zone and try different techniques!
Today I explored the Pencil & Watercolor trend, and I really enjoyed the contrast between them! Especially the sketch look of the final pieces. The colors I used were a bit more vibrant though... I need to try it with more light colors too.
Thank you Irina for searching these trends and sharing them with us!
Here I used pencil 6b for the mountains and watercolor on the background (forgot to take a picture of the sketch)
Here I tryied another painting, in the same style of the class.
Florals on dark background: oh my, that one was difficult to finish! Painting outside the shapes is pretty tricky and I made things harder for myself with the thin branches.... my leaves kept getting smaller and smaller XD I took Irina's class on the Ranunculus flower for this. The flower could use more shadows, but I didn't want to lose the contrast with the background. I added details with iridescent gold acrylic. I'm not entirely happy with this one, so I'll probably try again in the future.
Painterly florals: For this project I tryied a different color scheme, more muted with an accent of deep blue. I really enjoyed creating this little pattern and I simply love the colors.
