Watercolor Fashion Illustration

I'm an illustrator who primarily works digitally. I took Dallas Shaw's class because she is one of my favorite illustrators and I have always admired her work and her style. I wanted to know her process and learn from her and wow was the class great.

Here is my first few trials. I used an image that I first saw on Dallas Shaw's Pinterest page, Tulle Skirt: http://www.pinterest.com/pin/177399672796019755/

I also then used inspiration from an Anthropologie look that I loved: http://www.anthropologie.com/anthro/catalog/productdetail.jsp?id=4130209022430

I've had a lot of fun working on this. Since it's been so long since I've drawn, non-digitally, I started with some sketches in a sketch book. I followed along with the class and then I tried a pose on my own based on the Anthropoloie look.

After the few sketches I worked on I braved the watercolor paper... I'm kind of a type a control freak and the fluidity of the watercolor and knowing there was no control z if I made a mistake made me a little vervous lol...

And this is the final. It was really interesting and fun to work with the variety of media.

Here trial two...

Here is one more try...

Few more...
