Wandering Brisbane City

Below are a few of my favourite shots from around my city; Brisbane. I began taking photos 6 months ago when I bought my first camera, a Samsung EX2F for $80. Now, I'm a little more invested...

Brisbane is a city without much of a scene for photography, it's not the most photogenic place compared to various other cities full of architectural masterpieces around the world, but it's my city nonetheless. So, I wanted to get out and be a little creative with what I saw.

All photos edited with VSCO film.

Photo 1 is the tallest tower in the town, but wanted to give it a bit of a different perspective. Let me know what you think!
Photo 2 is the back of a cosy little art museum tucked in the centre of the city, doesn't see too much traffic except for all the pioneers of Brisbane's music and art scene.
Photo 3, first time sneaking onto an apartment building. Chasing the shot.
Photo 5, one of the most common tourist lookouts around, a lovely location for sure.
Photo 6, same location as photo 2... but wanted to play around with the reality of the situation by tweaking the lighting.
Photo 7, is one of my personal favourites. Walking through a city on a busy day holding a camera in headed for my destination, I saw this man walk by with a hunchback though dressed to impress. I couldn't help but wonder where he was going, where I wanted to be in 50 years and how he'd lived. He stopped me in my tracks and I had to turn around. It was a split second shot, barely any time to compose the frame or get it just right. Special nonetheles.
Photo 8, rush hour.
Photo 9, a Look Up shot. It's not often we just stop to look around, especially look up. How much went into the creations all around us we take no notice of

I'll undoubtedly continue documenting this city, capturing it's special moments and learning more.

Thanks for reading and looking.
