Wajma Ahmady - The Triangle Behind the Image

Below you will find the link to my Flickr account, where I have uploaded photos. http://www.flickr.com/photos/[email protected]/

I chose a ceiling fan as the object to photograph for the stop/blur motion photos. The ceiling lights were on, and it was around dusk. There was some light (or what was left of it) coming in to the room.

The first photo turned out quite dark. It was taken w/the intent to stop motion. The ISO was set to 800, the aperture was set to 4.5, and the shutter speed to 1/50.

In the second photo, I increased the ISO to 1600, decreased the aperture to 14, and set the shutter speed to 1/15. This photo was taken w/the intent to blur motion.

For the wide aperture shot,  I went outdoors to the beach and used natural lighting. For the wide open aperture, I toke a photograph of seaweed on the sand. The foreground is in focus, whereas the people in the background are blurred.  I like the mood this photo evokes. The couple is off in the far corner, looking down at the seaweed, remnants that the sea has left behind. I was thinking along the same lines for the seashell shot but that photo did not come out as well, seashell is symbolic, washed ashore (seashell resembles a locket that holds  memories... the people in the blurred background have an association with the locket-seashell) I think both photographs  are interesting compositions that I would like to develop.

For the small aperture, I toke a photo of the Lifeguard station on an empty beach. It's not an image you often see at a beach in Southern California. On this particular day, it was chilly/windy, and there were only a handful of people on the shoreline. The lifeguard station is in focus. It's hard to tell, whether the waves are, but that's because it's far away and because it's quite bright.

Would greatly appreciate your feedback!
