WIENER

I've been working through a lot of options for this project and I figured I'd post my progress so far. As you can see, I've been working through a lot of options for this...

I noticed in my research that a lot of crests feature the profile of a knight or something of that nature. Here's the thing...we actually are knights. Also, there is an iconic caricature of my father from his college days and it only seems appropriate to incorporate it.

Going back to what I said about being knights, it's an order from Gent, Belguim called the Knights of the Noose. When we were knighted, we were given nooses that had a black and white pattern on them, so I figured that it would be perfect to use that as my laurels.

Regarding the quote under the shield, I used the latin translation for a famous (in my family) quote from my father that means "the greatest honor is to be left alone". It's an inside joke and I won't bore you with the origin story. The colors of the banner are my town's colors, Blue and Gold.

The pizza is for my brother Scott, who runs Scott's Pizza Tours in NYC. Pizza has always been the signature food of my family.

Glasses: we are all basically vision-impaired and embrace our face-clothes.

Road: My mother once gave a speech that begins with "Let me take you on a journey" and my brothers and I have mocked her relentlessly for that (playfully) and has always been a running joke with us.

We are also from New Jersey, and I decided to put a star over our hometown (Cranford, NJ)

I've toyed with including an old family dog and a cup of coffee, but was never happy with the look of it in comparison to everything else.

Here's what I ended up with.

I did a black/white/gray version for kicks...

I know that the font for WIENER is pretty garish, but I really like the way it fits with everything else.

Please let me know what you think. I'm still new at all of this and I got a little lost at times, but I'm happy with what I've learned from doing all of this.
