Updated: The ball is in your court.

Latest work - I riffed on a second idiom, "the ball is in your court." I originally sketched two tennis balls, with one coming on to the other. The second tennis ball had a confused look on his face, i.e. he was being compelled to act. I thought I had it, but after colouring it didn't work for me anymore. I needed to simply so I concentrated on drawing single tennis balls working with the pattern on the ball to make a face. I drew about six and liked this one the best.  I also wanted to add the text of the idiom to the project. Here's what I came up with using some brush pens:

This was a very fun project. I riffed on the idiom "A taste of your own medicine" for a while and came up with a few ideas but felt this was the strongest. I was aiming for a pill being forced to eat mini versions of itself, and reacting to the terrible taste. Rejected ideas included a stethoscope with a person's head for the part that you put on a body, as well as a bandaid on a bandaid. I actually had a blender pen lying around so it was great to try a bit of texture. I'll definitely be trying the blender pen in the future. Really fun.

Here are some other concepts I played around with:
