Unison Beats - Spoon River: William and Emily

The poem of William and Emily from the Spoon River Anthology is a poem describing a unison bond between lovers. The poem struck me as a very romanticized view of love and death, reminding me of a news article I read recently about Harold and Ruth Knapke (a husband and wife who died within 11 hours of each other). In my screenplay I hope to capture the sense of love between unison hearts, from when they first beat strong for each other and until the inevitable last beat. As Masters writes "There is something about death like love itself!" - this relationship between love and death will be explored. Please stay tuned for updates on my screenplay!
