US Economy Growth Illustration

US Economy Growth Illustration - student project

Here it is the little illustration I made for the article about US economic growth thanks mostly to the housing development.

The idea to represent economy was using those mathematical graphs that are used to present any sort of cadence of an item, in this case, I chose the column one which is one of the most recognisable. The columns fluctuate in their size but with an obvious tendency of going up (economic growth).

To hint into the growth related with the housing the columns are made out of bricks, piling up.

Since this is an article regarding an American achievement, and any achievement US gets it is source of national pride (I am not American, btw), I can't help listening in my head the chanting :"U.S.A.!U.S.A.!" picturing a rippling flag with a superposition of a bald eagle...so I colored the bricks as the red and white bars with the stars in the background.

To reinforce the sense of growth, I turned it into a GIF. :)
