I decided on the pink, feathery Oscar de la Renta cocktail dress from Spring 13 collection. I couldn't resist turning the bright pink feathery awesomeness into a watercolor illustration! I thought the glitter was great to use as a hint towards the texture in the dress! Oh and the jewled belt was another part I wanted to play with embellishment. I definitely want to try out a few more designs before the class ends! :)
PRACTICE SKETCH & WATERCOLOR...
a few more pactice sketches before I chose which look I wanted for my final.
I chose to sketch the last piece from my inspo board. It is an Oscar de la Renta Wedding dress from Spring 2013. I was drawn to the classic silhouette found between layers upon layers of tulle! I thought the two side poofs created a unique shape and I loved the contrast from the fitted body with the flowing tulle. I hope I can do it justice with adding watercolor!
Hey! I'm Bethany from Pittsburgh, PA. I am not a pro, but I have been drawing ever since I could hold a crayon. My twin sister always jokes to never leave a pen around me because I will start doodling on anything. Watercolor is a new medium for me so I am eager to learn more and use it to make my sketches come to life!
My inspiration comes from the idea of a girl who is having the best time ever. She is living her life like she's spinning in a brand new dress... carefree, spirited, and feeling pretty as ever. Her fashion is classic lines, but with extra oompfh!
