Feel free to get in touch if you'd like one. Thanks again to the classmates who provided feedback and support through the course - it was super-helpful and much appreciated.
I took this in a completely different direction from how i'd intended, but to get the lighting how I'd imagined i had to make it a bit more painterly. Colouring is always the hardest for me, so I still don't know that this is how i would want it to be 100%, but... sometimes you just have to call it a day. :)
I got a bit behind schedule but this is the colour so far - still going to add the highlights, shade and shadow, and effects from the lamp, etc., then darken out the wall in the bg.
Quiet to me means peaceful, calm, at ease.
I wanted to do something with photography because that's when I feel most 'quiet'. Photographs silently capture events as they unfold, and hold on to them for years to come. There's nothing better than flipping through an old photoalbum and reminiscing.
Anyhow, this is my version of that feeling. An old man remembering happier times, perhaps. I'm planning to do this in warm shades with a very dark background so that he's illuminated by the table lamp, as is his vintage Rolleiflex sitting next to him.
That's the plan, anyhow...
Just wanted to give a great big giant THANKS in general for all the feedback people have been so awesome to leave thus far! What a rad group we've got here. :)
Please feel free to leave your project link if you comment so that I can come see yours too! Otherwise I'll be sure to search through all the projects and find you.
