U-Wanna: List, share and accomplish your dream activities

U-Wanna: List, share and accomplish your dream activities - student project

Have you ever felt there are many things you would like to do, many places to visit, people to meet, and things to accomplish? If you are similar to me then the answer is Yes.

There are many people out there who share your interests and passion. Wouldn't you want to learn from them, share your experiences or even get to meet them?

U-Wanna will be the place where you can explore the potential of what life has to offer, and allow you to find people who would like to accompany on your journey.

I am sure there are other sites on the web which can help you do this, but none as complete, useful and entertaining.

Coming soon...

1. List all major “players” in the system (eg. a marketplace may have two major players: buyers & sellers)

a. General Users

b. Experts

b. Partners (advertisers, associated brands, etc.)

2. List out any selfish reasons why each player would need their contacts/friends to join the service

a. General Users. They want to complement their list of activities, places, and interests with what their friends and other users have experienced or would like to experience. The more friends that join, the more ideas they will be able to feed from.

b. Experts. People with lots of experience within a subject matter want to show the World that they are good at what they like. This is a great place to expose themselves. In particular cases, like sports, some professionals will want to show off their skills so that they can build a following.

c. Partners. The more viral the site gets, the more opportunities they will have to interact with Users. Partners will be able to focus all their efforts on prospects which are actually interested in receiving communications from them.

3. List out all things you could possibly charge each player for on the service

a. General Users. Free for all, although at a later stage they could have the option of going premium if they want to have access to extended functionality.

[#4] Additional functionality gives them more possibilities to achieve their goals.

b. Experts. If they were to offer their expertise in some way, there is a possibility of charging Experts for use of platform to interact with users.

[#4] Platform allows them to interact with users in a way that they wouldn't be able elsewhere.

c. Partners.

- Advertising. The more users the site has, the more revenue which can be made. Advertisers will be willing to pay higher rates than other sites as their audience will be much more targeted.

- Commissions. Partners can offer specific and personalised packages to users, for every lead/conversion the site will get a commission for it.

- Affiliate programs. Personalised products can be offered (travel books, equipment, etc.) through the site, although will be bought through other sites (ie Amazon). These companies have Affiliate programs which can generate revenue.

[#4] They are able to target their products, services, offerings to a market who is willing to listen due to interest in the subject.

4. For 2 and 3 above give a very short reason you think the player would be motivated to need their contact or pay for the service

{{see above in section 2 and 3}}

5. List the channels (email, facebook, text message, etc.) that you will send your users’ invites through and how you will get that contact data

- Facebook

- Twitter

- Email

- G+

Consider 2 ways of using these channels:

1. For users to actively invite their friends on other Social Networks to have them join U-Wanna. This will build a bigger network, allow them to share with more people and learn from others.

2. For users to pasively invite their friends by selecting their specific interests, posting comments, uploading photos, where an update will be posted (prior User authorisation) on each one of the social networks. This will allow their friends to see what they are up to, and drive traffic to U-Wanna

The contact data will be accessed through Social Network APIs which allow to access Network information. As for emails, there will be several options: manual (not ideal), pst file (Outlook), and major Mail providers (Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo).

6. Create what those invites will look like

1. Active: Simple message describing emotive reasons for joining, ie make your dreams come true, I want to get to know you better, etc.

2. Passive: Simple message posted next to exiting picture which will call to action, ie want to join me?, let's do this together, I would love to do this... how about you?, etc.
