Tylers big photoshoot day

Tylers big photoshoot day - student project

Loved the tutorial, so amazingly straight forward, no bells or whistles... no expensive equipment... just straight to the point and informative.

I decided to take my dog for a spin... and these are the results... one of them is going to be hung on my sons wall.

All these were shot on my Sony a99v, with a 24-70mm Zeiss lens. They are all natural light, I started off indoors, but found there wasn't enough light there to get the shutter speed I wanted... so instead of waiting for the next day, when the light came back round again earlier in the morning... I went outside... using a large foam board to bounce light.

What are your thoughts of using speedlights or strobes in pet photography?

Thank you Tabitha for the inspiration and help :D

I always think that 'high key' white background shoots don't look right with pets (especially black pets)... am I doing something wrong?Tylers big photoshoot day - image 4 - student project

The image below is the one going on my sons wall :D

Also did a quick YouTube video too...

Edit: some of the images and the video disappeared, will re-upload again... I think I added the images wrong first time round... 'drag and drop' works until you publish, then it seems to lose them... should be all there now.
