Two Watercolour Cuties

Two Watercolour Cuties - student project

I had so much fun in this course! I wanted to create some cute-looking animals in watercolour for my daughter's bedroom, but I did not know where to start. This course gave me the structure I needed to help me develop my style. I have a long way to go but I know I can do it. I really am thrilled with how they turned out. I followed Yasmina's instructions step-by-step, starting off with a "realistic" sketch, then identifying the basic shapes and then exaggerating certain features.

My initial sketch was a unicorn but she developed into a horse in the final piece. I chose an Aardvark for my not-so-cute animal, but that is subjective. I think Aardvarks are kind of cute in real life anyway.

Finally, transferred my sketch to watercolour paper and then coloured it all with watercolours.  Here are the final pieces. Thank you for a very informative and fun course, Yasmina! I look forward to learning more from you.
