Here are the translations of the two quotes that I have loved for as long as I can remember:
"It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eyes" Antoine de Saint Exupéry (Le Petit Prince)
"The curve of your eyes winds around my heart" which is the first verse of a love poem by Paul Eluard.
It was definitely challenging for me to find the placement and spacing of the words and lines. Trying over and over led to many smudges but also to happy accidents like the extended capital L for the word "L'essentiel".
I so wish I could draw eyes for the second quote, without them looking scary or insane!
This class was my first attempt at pointed nib calligraphy. It is so much fun and very versatile. I look forward to exploring more of it!
