A useful class, which felt more creative than the other Photoshop classes so far. I was very curious to see how to create vintage/retro poster styles, so this was a fun project.
I chose a very simple design from Pinterest.
I struggled a little with using the blending modes on this project. I'm not sure if it was due to the colours I chose, but the multiply blending mode just didn't seem to be acting as it had when I was practicing in the other lessons. Therefore I mainly played with the opacity of the shapes to create a similar effect. I had a bit of a search in my existing fonts, font squirrel and 1001 fonts for a similar font to the original but found it hard to find a typeface similar in height, so ended up going with a shorter and fatter typeface. I finished my design with the sandpaper texture from subtlepatterns.com across all layers.
I'm not 100% happy with the final outcome, but this was a good class to find out more about applying textures and other subtle creative adjustments.
