Hi everyone! I'm excited to share my project with you. Creating artwork is something I really enjoy and devote a lot of my time to, but I'm pretty new to surface pattern design - it's something that has interested me for a long while now but I never really knew where to begin. I'm really happy I took this class, as it gave me everything I needed to not only begin making awesome patterns like all of you, but all of those tips and tricks to help improve efficiency and workflow are greatly appreciated too.
Flowers and leaves are so beautiful, and there are so many varieties that I figured making a nice floral pattern would be a good place to start. Above are the sketches I created. Some of them I only half-completed, or are unrelated doodles, and some didn't end up making it into the final product, but I like a few of them, so they will probably end up in future projects. ;)
These are my inspirational images along with the colour palette I took from them.
Below is the final pattern, along with two other versions I liked after messing around with the colours for a while. :) I hope you like it too, thanks for looking!
