Took this photo over the weekend on the drive up to the river to hike. I had just gotten a new wide angle lens for my camera and was really excited to try it out.

This edit started with a simple diagonal striping. The stripes were exactly the same width at a 45 degree angle. This looked cool, but to further experiment I began to vary their width and spacing. I like to have a little regularity so I settled on a thick-thin-thick pattern and mirrored it. The overlayed image is the same as the background but scaled up. After making the mask, the thick-thin-thick looked cool, but to disrupt the pattern a bit, I added the triangle at the bottom and the thickest stripe towards the center.

Let me know what you think, and what's your favorite spots to hike?
